TOMMY HILFIGER EUROPE announces the opening of its first freestanding retail store
in the United Arab Emirates.
Dubai, United Arab Emirates, 9 May 2006 - Tommy Hilfiger Europe B.V., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Tommy Hilfiger Corporation (NYSE: TOM), announced the opening of a freestanding retail store in Dubai, United Arab Emirates on the 9th of May 2006. The store which officially opened on the 10th of May marked the Company’s first freestanding retail store in the United Arab Emirates.
Tommy Hilfiger Europe B.V. entered into an exclusive franchisee and distribution agreement with the Murjani Group for the Middle East. The Murjani Group further entered into a sub-franchise agreement with the Apparel Group for the marketing and distribution of Tommy Hilfiger in the Gulf Cooperation Council countries, which includes Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates.
To celebrate the opening of the flagship store, Tommy Hilfiger personally hosted a public fashion show of his exciting Spring/Summer 2006 collection at 8pm in the Mall of the Emirates. Accompanied by live music from renowned Led Zeppelin drummer, Michael Lee, and DJ.

The 400-square-meter store is located at the Mall of the Emirates in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The freestanding store showcases Hilfiger’s brand by combining classic sportswear with contemporary details for a modern lifestyle. The store features men’s and women’s sportswear and denim, as well as men’s tailored clothing and childrenswear. In addition, fragrance and body products, leather goods, watches, socks, handbags, underwear, accessories and footwear for men and women.
The store design reflects the youthful, energetic image of the Hilfiger collections by featuring white walls, wooden flooring, high ceilings and tall windows. This neo-classic architecture can be found throughout Tommy Hilfiger freestanding stores worldwide.
Current freestanding stores in Europe include London, Milan, Amsterdam, Berlin, Brussels, Copenhagen, Stockholm, Vienna, Zurich, St. Tropez, Istanbul, Turin, Antwerp, Athens, and Madrid, among others.
